Big C's Online Meetings - December 2020
Although our Big C Centres are temporarily closed due to COVID-19, most of our support groups, workshops and activities are now available online via Zoom.
Please see below information regarding the dates and times for the December, as some of the times and dates have changed due to the upcoming holidays.

Connect Over A Cuppa – Virtual Drop In Meeting
Our Support and Information team will continue to host our Connect Over A Cuppa virtual drop-in sessions every Tuesday at 11.00am and Thursday at 2.00pm throughout December, except for Thursday 31 December in which there will be no virtual drop-in.
Whether you have a question about a diagnosis or simply want to have a catch up with a member of our staff, you can ‘drop-in’ with our team via Zoom.

Men’s Support Group
Our Norwich and Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn Men’s Support Groups are now meeting every other week.
Below is the information for each group’s meeting:

King’s Lynn and Great Yarmouth:
- Tuesday 8 December from 1.30-3pm
- Tuesday 22 December from 1.30-3pm
Women’s Support Group
Our Norwich, King’s Lynn and Great Yarmouth Women’s Support Group host regular weekly or bi-weekly meetings.
- Friday 11 December from 11am-3pm
- Friday 18 December from 11am-1pm
- Wednesday 10 December from 2-3.30pm
- Thursday 24 December from 2-3.30pm
- Thursday 7 December from 2-3.30pm
- Friday 4 December from 11am-12.30pm
- Friday 18 December from 11am-12.30pm
British Sign Language Support Group
Our British Sign Language Group is a group for those diagnosed with cancer, and carers, who use BSL as a main language. Each support session is facilitated by Big C and has a qualified BSL interpreter present.
The next meeting date and time is Wednesday 9 December from 10.00am-12.00pm
Rosemary & Thyme Support Group
This support group is for women who have received a palliative and/or secondary diagnosis, or who have a recurrent cancer.
The next group meetings are:
- Thursday 3 December from 12.30-2.00pm
- Thursday 10 December from 12.30-2.00pm
- Thursday 17 December from 12.30-2.00pm
- Thursday 24 December from 12.30-2.00pm
- Thursday 31 December from 12.30-2.00pm
Free2Be Teenage and Young Adult Support Group
Free2Be is a support group for people aged 13-25 who have or have had a cancer diagnosis. The group meets regularly and is supported by health care professionals from the NNUH and Big C.
The next group meeting is Wednesday 9 December from 7.00-9.00pm
Carers Support Group
Our Carers Support Group is for people who are caring for someone who has been diagnosed with cancer to meet others in a similar situation.
The next group meeting is on Friday 11 December from 1-2.30pm.
Look Good Feel Better for Women
Run in partnership with the Look Good Feel Better charity, these session are aimed at helping women cope with the physical and emotional side effects of cancer treatment, through skin care and make-up workshops.
This workshop offers a variety of information and tips on issues relating to skin care and make-up, including colour correction, dry skin and loss of eyebrows and eyelashes.
Our next session is Tuesday 11 August from 2.00-4.00pm.
We are now hosting our relaxation sessions online, helping those living with the effects of cancer to look after your own wellbeing.
These sessions are held weekly on Tuesdays at 1.00pm and Thursdays at 10.00am.
There will be no relaxation sessions on:
- Tuesday 8 December
- Thursday 24 December
- Tuesday 29 December
- Thursday 31 December
Get Moving With Big C
Our Get Moving With Big C programme is a wellbeing and exercise programme designed to help those living with and beyond cancer to increase their physical activity through online classes and 1:1 sessions.
