Big C's Online Meetings - August 2020

Although our Big C Centres are temporarily closed due to COVID-19, most of our cancer support groups, workshops and drop-in meetings are now hosting online meetings via Zoom.
Please see below information regarding the dates and times for online group meetings this August.

Connect Over A Cuppa – Virtual Drop In Meeting

Every Tuesday and Thursday, Big C’s Support and Information team are hosting Connect Over A Cuppa online ‘drop-in’ meetings.

Whether you have a question about a diagnosis or simply want to have a catch up with a member of our staff, you can connect with us for a ‘drop-in’ via Zoom with Big C!

The dates for our August Connect Over A Cuppa are:

  • Tuesday 4 from 11.00am-12.30pm
  • Thursday 6 from 2.00-3.30pm
  • Tuesday 11 from 11.00am-12.30pm
  • Thursday 13 from 2.00-3.30pm
  • Tuesday 18 from 11.00am-12.30pm
  • Thursday 20 from 2.00-3.30pm
  • Tuesday 25 from 11.00am-12.30pm
  • Thursday 27 from 2.00-3.30pm

Men’s Support Group

Our Men’s Support Groups for our Norwich, King’s Lynn and Great Yarmouth Centres are now hosting online meetings every other week.

Women’s Support Group

Our Women’s Support Groups for our Norwich, King’s Lynn and Great Yarmouth Centres are now hosting online meetings every other week.

Norwich

  • Friday 7 August from 11.00am-1.00pm
  • Friday 21 August from 11.00am-1.00pm

Great Yarmouth

  • Friday 14 August from 11.00am-2.30pm
  • Friday 28 August from 11.00am-2.30pm

King’s Lynn

  • Monday 3 August from 10.30am-12.30pm
  • Wednesday 19 August from 10.30-12.30pm
British Sign Language Support Group

Our British Sign Language Group is a group for those diagnosed with cancer, and carers, who use BSL as a main language. Each support session is facilitated by Big C and has a qualified BSL interpreter present.

The next BSL group meeting is Wednesday 5 August from 10.00am-12.00pm.

Rosemary & Thyme Support Group

This support group is for women who have a palliative and/or secondary diagnosis, or who have a recurrent cancer.

This group meets every Thursday from 12.30-2.00pm.

Free2Be Teenage and Young Adult Support Group

Free2Be is a support group for people aged 13-25 who have or have had a cancer diagnosis. The group meets regularly and is support by health care professionals from the NNUH and Big C.

The next group meetings are:

  • Wednesday 12 August from 2.00-4.00pm
  • Wednesday 26 August from 7.00-9.00pm
Carers Support Group

Our Carers Support Group is for people who are caring for someone who has been diagnosed with cancer. This group is a great way for carers to meet others who may be going through a similar situation.

The next group meeting is Friday 14 August from 2.00-4.00pm

Look Good Feel Better for Women

Run in partnership with the Look Good Feel Better charity, these session are aimed at helping women cope with the physical and emotional side effects of cancer treatment, through skin care and make-up workshops.

This workshop offers a variety of information and tips on issues relating to skin care and make-up, including colour correction, dry skin and loss of eyebrows and eyelashes.

Our next session is Tuesday 11 August from 2.00-4.00pm.
